Matt just pointed me at this article:

101 Uses for Apple iChat

You knew it had to happen but I always find it interesting what kinds of clever ways people find to use Apple technology. Granted not all are on the up and up but still – clever folks out there… Everything from iChat dating, to iChat Pen Pals, to using a DV cam to re-broadcast Pay-per-view TV (which – by the way is stealing just like swaping MP3s – if you don’t want people to put in draconian security in their products to stop this kind of stuff then don’t use the technology in ways that will force them to do it).

The article also points to a number of clearing house sites that provides references to a bunch of clearing house sites that give people a way of finding others with iSight Cameras. Kind of reminds me of the old CU-See Me days of years ago – only with video that works. In case you don’t want to go searching here are the links:

Tell me about it; the only way I could try iChat AV at the moment is through the built in speaker of my iMac at work (I get the little telephone symbol, which is in itself exciting!), but that ‘s the problem – it’s in a lab full of other people, so I can’t really do that. My home desktop is entirely camera-and-mic free But my laptop has completely slipped my mind until this second; I’ll have to check that out later, then find a guinea pig.
