A special place in…

Just read this quote from Sen. Rick Santorum (thanks to bloggy)

“I would argue that the future of our country hangs in the balance because the future of marriage hangs in the balance,” he said shortly before the vote. “Isn’t that the ultimate homeland security, standing up and defending marriage?”

Does he REALLY believe that my desire for basic equal rights is the most important security issue facing them? He and Karl Rove really need to keep their eye on the ball… (I have a few other choice words for those two but I’ll refrain for now since i’m in a good mood).. Gotta agree with barry that there really are more important things to be worrying about.

Yikes. Earlier this week I watched some pro-FMA (ugh) news conference on C-SPAN, and they kept going on about the breakdown of the family leading to all sorts of social problems… what does that have to do with gay marriage?! And now Santorum infusing the debate with homeland security (read: anti-terrorism) language? Unacceptable.

How dare we queers cause the outrageous HETEROSEXUAL divorce rate! Just imagine, straight men will run to us in hordes as soon as they have the option of marrying us. I bet Santorum will go for a large daddy bear just as soon as gay marriage is legal!
