Take THAT
KICK ASS:
Its nice to know that there is SOME sanity in the world. We talked about this at length in my carpool yesterday with one of my straight carpool buddies. Its weird to talk to the people I know (gay and straight) and see how few people support the amendment (or even understand why others care) and yet see so many people in the news that seem to be so gung ho to write discrimination into the constitution…
Anyway.. Another point for the good guys! 🙂
OutFOXed
Seen Fahrenheit 9/11? Want more?
Check out the trailer! Looks kinda interesting…
(Thanks to The Tin Man ;))
Scared yet?
Is it just me or is this idea more than a little scary:
U.S. Mulling How to Delay Nov. Vote in Case of Attack
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – A senior House Democratic lawmaker was skeptical on Sunday of a Bush administration idea to obtain the authority to delay the November presidential election in case of an attack by al Qaeda,
And the sad part is, its not terrorism that I’m afraid of. Its the concept of the administration using a tragedy to manipulate the most fundamental aspect of our form of government. I’m sure the rationale for this is move is based, at least in part, on what happened in Spain’s election after the train bombing. What the administration seems to overlook whenever they mention that however is that the election results were due in no small part to the people of spain reminding their administration that when they say they don’t want to go to war they mean it.
Anyone wanna make a point to THIS administration? 😉
SO SWEET Part 2
Last night Kevin pulled together a little low key birthday party for me which is my favorite kind. He invited Matt and Brian, Patrick and Chuck, Bill and Matt, and Britton over for dinner and cocktails..
Was kinda cute actually. After Nathan’s party we came home and Kevin told me we were going over to Matt and Bill’s for dinner and he needed to go to the store to get salad fixings. While he was gone I noticed the grill had been scrubbed and was open and an empty charcoal bag was next to it. Hmmm… When he got home he had Salad Fixings, a bunch of pelligrino, beer, sodas, and a large package from the bucher… Hmm… Then he pulled out some fennel to let me smell and then asked if I’d ever had grilled fennel at which point he fired up the BBQ… Odd… He finally broke down and told me people were coming over (probably cuz he had to start preparing the roast)..
Anyway… was super cute.. After that folks came over to hang out, help cook, eat, and chat.. Was really nice…
SO SWEET
We went to Nathan’s Birthday party today which was SO MUCH FUN… He’s 2 years old and the house was full of little kids of various ages. Patrick had Kevin and Britton make balloon animals for the kids which was a total hit and they were very good at it. Meanwhile I spent most of the time hiding behind Patrick’s super cool SLR Digital camera.. I’m so jealous.. And, to top it off Patrick was super sweet and added my name to the Cake for my birthday this week so I got to help Nathan blow out the candles…
Anyway.. Had to share.. Fun Day
Week of DOOM
uggg… I’ve been pretty out it for a while (thus the lack of posts)… This has been high on my list of shitty weeks.. Weekend was cool – saw Spiderman friday night with Scott, Jeremy, Clarke, and Alex (and some co-workers of Scotts) which was cool.. Movie was really good… Saturday was totally lazy as I recal aside from walking Matt and Brian’s dogs which was all cool… Sunday we spent the day with Alex, Scott, and Jeremy. Early in the day we went to brunch over in Glenn Park and then headed over to Alemeda for a big antiques flea market on the naval base.. was kinda cool but not many ‘finds’ – most of the stuff was either just old stuff or good stuff that the sellers knew was good stuff and priced to match… I didn’t buy anything… Sunday night (the 4th) we all went to Scott’s house to meet some other folks (Clark, Kevin’s friend Jason, and a sweet guy Tom that I hadn’t met) for a BBQ (or cookout as kevin insists is the ‘correct’ term)… We had a good time, drank too much, ate great food, and listened to the battle between the neighbor’s back yard band and scott’s stereo… Overall a nice forth..
except… bout 10pm I started feelin crappy and went home bout 11… what i thought was just too many cocktails turned into a flu that lasted about 3 days which was a drag… Downside was i was at home in bed incapable of doing much more than working the TiVo clicker (and spent my birthday on wed sick in bed)… Up side was i missed some obnoxious meetings at work and ‘Management training’…
Last night we did go see ‘Awe about Eve‘ with Alex, Peter, Scott, Scott and Joe, luke and some others… Play was an uncut rendeition of All about eve… Very silly and fun…
So I guess the week hasn’t been a total wreck… overall I guess pretty good.. but man bein sick for 3 days does wreck it…
Oh… And I was proud of myself for calling the South Bay Inifiniti dealers and bitching about some ad’s they’re running right now which are pretty obnoxious collections of cultural stereotypes… so there’s my political action for the week..
Anyway.. Happy Friday! 🙂
