Ever notice
That they never change the stuff in the West Elm catalog? I like the aesthetic but I keep hoping that they’ll add stuff that would actually work in our place..
I’m just sayin… 🙂
(BTW – MAN is it nice having this whole week off of work… not getting as much done as I would have liked though)..
Random fun for a Sunday
Just waking up and finding a bunch of silly things I thought I’d share! :):)
- Cyndi Lauper’s new album is Flippin GREAT… That womman has some pipes on her..
- Madonna is 5’4″ Tall… (Found that here – The Movie Times site is kinda cool)
- Turns out Ringo Starr, Pierre Cardin, Shelly Duvall, Michelle Kwan, and Doc Severinson all have the same birthday as I do and Darrin Fletcher (whoever he is) was both born on the same day (though I’d bet money I was born earlier in the day)… Found this here
- I freakin LOVE The West Wing… Its a very smart show that does a great job of depicting a moral and noble President and a staff who truely want to make the country a better place – all things we could REALLY use right now.. Right now I’m watching an episode where the father of a gay man who died in a bashing is refusing to support the President’s hate crime bill, not because he’s embarrassed by his son’s sexuality, but because the President isn’t doing enough… That and this speech to a Dr. Laura like character (Here is the actual text of the speech – well worth a read)… Gives me Chills.
Friday 5 – November 21
- List five things you’d like to accomplish by the end of the year.
Oh my LORD… I’ve got SO Much to accomplish by then if I could get just five I’d be THRILLED… How ’bout these:- Meet my deadlines for work.
- Get a few Christmas cards out.
- Get issues with our electrical upgrade worked out with PG&E.
- Arrange for having city inspections for our condo conversion.
- Arrange for having Maps for our condo conversion made.

Gay and Lesbian Couples in Long-term, Committed Relationships Get Equal Protections Under the Law in Massachusetts
WASHINGTON (Nov. 18) — The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court ruled today that same- and opposite-sex couples must be given equal civil marriage rights under the state constitution. The ruling in Goodridge et al. v. Department of Public Health makes the state the first in the nation to grant same-sex couples the right to a civil marriage license. Ruling that civil marriage in Massachusetts means “the voluntary union of two persons as spouses, to the exclusion of all others,” the Court allowed the Legislature 180 days to change the civil marriage statutes accordingly. more
Keep making forward progres – one step at a time…
Too funny….
So I still had this sitting out on my desk this morning (see this post for details) when one of my Co-Workers came in to ask me a question.. During the course of the conversation she caught sight of it and it stopped her dead in her tracks.. She said “uh.. Pete… umm… what… whats this?”… CRACKED ME UP… She was clearly trying to be polite but was tottaly confused and disapproving as to the fact that I had what looked to be a signed picture of Dubbya on my desk. I laughed as I explained it to her and she let out a sigh of relief.
In general most of the folks I work with are pretty liberal and I have yet to find any of his supporters in meetings but there is bound to be one or two – but they’re pretty closeted for fear of being looked down upon ( kinda poetic if you ask me! 🙂 ). I do find people use pictures of Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Ashcroft as iChat images but it’s by no means out of respect! 🙂
