A weekend in Palm Springs
Things got so busy I never got around to posting about the trip Kevin and I took with Rick and Randy to Palm Springs. The weekend was REALLY nice – we spent the weekend going on hikes through the mountains and desert (including Joshua Tree national park), hangin out by the pool, and going out to eat. Rather than go into details i’ll just point you at Randy’s description – he did a GREAT job of describing the weekend..
My contribution to the story is the pictures that Kevin and I took:

I’m crushed. Crushed, I tell you! But seriously, if you come visit PS again, please allow me to give you some eatery recommendations. Mary’s is my Friday night happy hour haunt (Kimberly and her breasts make for some good entertainment) but the Lobster Co – Huh. I wouldn’t have picked that place for you. But it looks like you all had a fabulous time. You’re all way to outdoorsy for this girl.
Hope you liked L’Horizon. My best friend (Rich) recently took over management there.
The Salton Sea 101: The sea is an “accidental lake” created when a levee broke on the Colorado River and flooded the Salton Sink about 100 years ago. It’s currently fed by agricultural runoff. Because there is no outlet, combined with evaporation, the salt levels continue to increase. Currently it’s saltier than the Pacific Ocean. The smell comes from algae blooms.

Brent: we stayed at the L’Horizon – I HIGHLY recommend it.. Was a nice little hotel with a great pool, cute rooms, and just the right distance from things… Kind of somewhere between a B&B and the wyndham..
I ALMOST pinged ya before we came MJ – but I didn’t know what randy and rick had in mind for the weekend and I ran out of time.. would have LOVED to buy ya a cocktail – next time (cuz kevin INSISTS we’re going back which is fine with me).. And next time you’re at Mary’s tell Kimberly she’s got fans in SF.. She was super sweet and a hoot! ;)…
