A nice weekend
So after my rough week the weekend was definitely welcome and very nice.. Kevin and I celebrated our 6th anniversary on saturday and spent the day just hanging out. The weather was INSANELY hot but still really nice. We got up in the morning and packed up a lunch (actually kevin did the work on that one) and headed up to Mt. Tam. The goal was to go hiking up there but, after spending about 30 minutes walking around it was just too insanely hot to do much more – so we turned it into a driving tour instead – stopping at all of the pull outs and admiring the view. We had lunch at a big amphitheater up there and then drove slowly down and around the mountain.
Then.. After we got back to the city, showered, and took a nap, we headed over to Nickel spa and got massages which were AMAZING, had dinner at Red Grill and then headed over to Randy and Rick’s new place for their house warming. Night was fun though I did have a little more to drink than I probably should have thanks to Randy’s cosmo punch..
Then sunday was Daniel and Bert’s wedding which was SO NICE.. They had their wedding up at a hotel in Sausalito which was just stunning. The ceremony was really wonderful (especially how cool and loving their family was) and the dinner to follow was fantastic to boot..
All in all a great weekend.. just what the doctor ordered..
And next weekend? HRC Ball Saturday night followed by Dore Alley Street Fair… Looking forward to it! 🙂
Tragic Fire
From our humor mailing list at work:
Crawford, Texas (TODAY, NOT AP) – A tragic fire this morning destroyed the personal library of President George W. Bush. The fire began in the presidential bathroom where both of the books were kept.
Both of his books have been lost. A presidential spokesman said the president was devastated, as he had almost finished coloring the second one.
Tennis ball meltdown
Uggg… So yesterday was probably the closest i’ve ever come to just melting down into a puddle of jell-o underneath my desk. This week has been a SERIOUSLY rough one from all perspectives and its only Wednesday. I had what felt like a hundred different things going on at work all on the same day ranging from things I needed to work on with employees to customer drama to scheduling drama to you name it. In the middle of all of that I got a phone call from my Dad regarding my Grandma S who isn’t doing so well saying that she was about to go into surgery. All that combined with some other stuff that was lingering in my brain from before the day began all added up to a whole lot of stress all rolled up into one big ball.. I kinda felt like I was standing in front of a tennis ball pitching machine without a racquet. I REALLY have to learn how to stop, take a deep breath, and just take things one at a time – unfortunately my job and my life doesn’t allow that – I just have to do my best to keep all of the plates spinning and, if one has to fall, make sure its not the expensive one..
Anyway.. sorry… just had to vent and this seemed like a good place to do it… things are more under control today… still lots going on but at least my head isn’t about to explode! :):)
More to come!
Toy Yoda
I can’t decide if this is sad, funny, or really fucked up.. but regardless it made me giggle so I figured I’d share:
PANAMA CITY, Fla. — Oh, what a feeling. Toy Yoda!
A former Hooters waitress has sued the restaurant where she worked, saying she was promised a new Toyota for winning a beer sales contest.
Instead she won a new toy Yoda — the little green Jedi master from Star Wars.
I’m thinkin its just damn funny and sad! 🙂
Houston Bound
So it looks llike i’m gonna be headin to Houston in August. Got a cousin getting married out there and it sounds like a good excuse to check out the town… But DAMN – I’m guessin houston is gonna be HOT at the end of august..
Any ideas on how to pass t he time when i’m not at the wedding?
anyway.. back to work.. just figured I’d share! 🙂
