Animalversary
This Sunday was our 7th anniversary so Kevin and I decided to escape for the weekend. Friday night was low key (at least for me – Kevin went out for drinks with his coworkers which never ends well). Then Saturday morning we woke up and started figuring out what to do for the weekend. We went down to Bagdad Cafe for breakfast with a ‘Quick Trips in the SF Bay Area’ book under our arm.. After a few phone calls we booked a Hotel down in Half Moon Bay..
After Eating we climbed in the car and begun a trek down the peninsula. The original goal was to hit a B-Day party / Housewarming for a co-worker up in the mountains and then heading over the hills to Half Moon bay for dinner and the evening. Unfortunately because of the closing of Highway 1 at Devil’s slide EVERYONE who wanted to go to the beach turned out to be on the road we were supposed to take to the party. So after a lot of waiting in that traffic and taking a few bad back roads we ended up missing the party and having to straight to half moon bay.. The drive was nice though – we ended up driving down to Page Mill Drive and driving way up back roads in the mountains which was gorgeous…
When we got to Half Moon Bay we checked in to the Beach House Inn which was a really cute hotel on the coast with little apartments including kitchenettes and views of the beach and hills… We walked over to the Half Moon Bay Brewing company for a snack before going over to Cafe Gibraltar for dinner.
The next morning we got up, checked out, and drove down the coast to explore a little. We drove south on Highway 1 to explore a little bit. We checked out tide pools at Pescadero State Beach and then drove down the coast to Santa Cruiz – partially cuz it sounded like a nice drive and partially because we figured it’d be faster to go home through Santa Cruz than over 92… After exploring briefly and getting stuck in a bit of traffic because of a road race – we headed over Highway 17 and had lunch in Los Gatos before heading home.. We would have stayed longer but it was BLOODY HOT there – was about 110°.
And we ended the day at the Eagle – seemed to both of us like a fitting way to end our anniversary! :):)
Oh.. and we swapped these:
I’m not a big fan of the pomp and circumstance of ceremonies but the ring was important… Though we may have a party at some point! 🙂
Damn Barney – Well Put
In case you haven’t seen it check out the speech Rep. Barney Frank gave today on the marriage amendment… VERY well put

Birthday with the munchkins! :)
So the b-day weekend didn’t end after Supperclub… Turns out kevin actually invited folks over Saturday afternoon for a bbq. He spent the morning working like a dog and cooking up a storm and then a group of folks including a handful of rug-rats (among them our God-daughter Audrey) came over to hang out for my B-day.. Afternoon was GORGEOUS and it was a lot of fun hanging out…
That evening we went to Mecca for dinner with our friends Rick and Randy and Heath and Mini (two new friends from our dive trip) and their friend CJ. Dinner was great and then we headed out for drinks at Martuni’s and the Cafe (don’t ask! ;))
Then sunday – well morning was mellow and then we went to the Eagle for the beer bust…
Uggg.. Fun but i’m exhausted just thinking about it! :):)
Birthday at Supperclub
Last Friday was my birthday and Kevin outdid himself on this one – the whole weekend was jam packed but my birthday night itself was great.. It started off with a really cool little birthday gathering at work. In the 15 years i’ve been at Apple I think this is the first time anything had been done for my Birthday – was so sweet.. Everyone surprised me in a meeting room with birthday cake.. Really sweet! 🙂 I felt bad cuz unfortunately my day wasn’t done so I had to duck out sooner than I wanted to..
But then that night Kevin and I went out for dinner together for a birthday dinner at a place called Supperclub in San Francisco. If you haven’t been there I highly recommend it.. Its a 4 hour event where you sit on big beds with pillows and they serve you a 5 course meal and entertain you with performance art, massages, tarot card readings and all sorts of fun stuff… Kevin was all worried that I’d be bummed spending my birthday night with just him but it was a whole lot of fun! 🙂
