Call for help
I’m sharing this in hopes that someone out there might have some information that will help solve this.
Upon leaving our Bay of Pigs event at 535 York Street, San Francisco
at approximately 2:00am Sunday morning July 27th, one of our patrons
was brutally attacked and stabbed repeatedly. He was walking west on
Mariposa, when he was jumped by a group of three Asian men
walking east on Mariposa. The men were apparently speaking Chinese, and
they were accompanied by three Asian women. We believe the attack was a
hate crime. Luckily, he returned to the venue where our medical and
security teams were able to rush him to the hospital. He is in stable
condition. We are writing to see if you or anyone you know has any information that
may lead us to the attackers. If so, please contact Inspector Brian
Danker – SFPD at 415.553.9256. Folsom Street Events cares deeply about
the health and well-being of our community members. Please help us to
look out for one another and help us bring closure to this dreadful incident.Folsom Street Events

My work day
just in case you were wondering what I stare at every day when i’m at work (and not in meetings)… All confidential stuff removed and all that remains is the geeky and silly! 🙂
Grossly Normal
Few notes for a thursday morning….
First, Kevin had his latest oncologist appointment on Monday at which his doctor informed him that he is now “Grossly Normal”. As it turns out that means there is no sign of cancer.. YAY… The PET scan showed no signs of cancer anywhere in his body (let alone at the site of the original Lymphoma)… So a good start to the week..
On other news… well… not much of it really… We’re still trying to get settled into the new digs, sell the old digs, and keep my head above water at work… Only some of which is going at any given point in time…
Will have some other news next week but for the time being i’m just going to tease a little and say something is going on…
(Oh… and I pulled all the silly twitter blog entries from my blog – I decided that that was silly – not to mention when I started playing with loopt I realized I was publishing my comings and goings to anyone who wanted to see – which seemed like poor judgement… :))
Anyway… more later…
Twitter updates
So i’ve got twitter tools up and connected to my blog.. Right now its configured to post in both directions – each time I post on my blog it updates on twitter and once a day it posts to my blog a summary of all of my tweets.. I don’t think I like the daily summary though – the tweets seem kind of random on the blog… THere is a tweet summary on the right hand side of the blog that I think is going to have to do…
anyway – thats what those random posts were… if ya wanna follow my tweets just go directly to twitter… (www.twitter.com/swimfinssf)
The Road Not Taken
One of my favorite poems of all times.. I know its kind of common place and perhaps a little trite – but I don’t care… I like it
The Road Not Taken
TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.Robert Frost (1874-1963)
Don’t let the door
hit ya in the ass on the way out…..
I’m not one to ever revel in the passing of another human being – no matter their background… but I also can’t say the world isn’t better better place today than it was a few days ago… The world definitely needs less hate and bigotry…
U.S. / POLITICS
Jesse Helms Dies at 86; Conservative Force in the SenateThe former North Carolina senator had a courtly manner and mossy drawl and turned his hard-edged conservatism against civil rights, gay rights, foreign aid and modern art.http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/05/us/politics/00helms.html?ex=1372910400&en=9ffcca5004bace5e&ei=5124&partner=permalink&exprod=permalink
